RUNNING AWAY

Designed a photo book exploring the idea of running away as an emotional pause rather than an act of weakness. Through soft black-and-white imagery, quiet typography, and spacious layouts, the book reflects the desire to step away from pressure, noise, and overwhelming thoughts in order to return to oneself with more clarity.

The challenge of this project was to represent “running away” in a way that felt gentle and reflective, rather than negative or dramatic. I wanted the book to show escape as a form of protection, where distance becomes a way to breathe, reset, and understand one’s emotions. To create this feeling, I used blurred photography, soft motion, and open white space to suggest movement, memory, and emotional release.

The spiral-bound format, minimal text, and delicate floral pattern create an intimate, journal-like experience. Each spread balances image and silence, allowing the viewer to move slowly through the book as if they are entering a private thought process. The final book turns running away into a visual story about softness, self-preservation, and the quiet search for clarity.
